Millionaire Club - Summer Reading Program

Picture
It is that time of year again.  Time to relax and enjoy your summer reading a few good books.  Our goal is for every student to read at least 5 books over the summer.  Students have a Millionaire Club Summer Reading Program Reading Log.  Please help them record the books they read and sign to verify their reading.

Steps for Summer Reading:
1. Select a category for books (i.e. Favorite Author, Lists, Series, Topic)

2. Read 5 books. Record the titles on the reading log and have your parents sign.

3. Turn in your signed reading list to your teacher next year.  (This applies for 5th graders going to middle school.)

4.  1st - 5th Graders will complete a three sentence summary on their book.

New Computer Lab in the Library

Mr. Garcia's 4th grade students were the first to use the new computer lab.  The library now has 16 laptop computers for classes to use.  Mr. Garcia's class learned about the library electronic book collection.  They each were able to use a computer and read an electronic book of their choosing.  They also learned how to read the books at home.

If you would like to read them as well, click on the Herrera Library Catalog link below and type in "ebk" and search by call number.  Click on the title of the book you would like to read, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Read this Ebook."  Have fun reading.
